Since October 2021, many rumors suggested that Electronic Arts was going to separate from the FIFA license. More specifically, the American publisher was considering changing the name of its legendary football game. Last month, EA agreed to the name change, it’s now official, the next FIFA will be called EA Sports FC!
EA Sports FC: the new era is approaching
So it’s official, FIFA 23 will be the last football game of the license after 30 years of collaboration! Starting July 2023, FIFA will become EA Sports FC, an all-new game to launch a new era in the interactive football experience. Electronic Arts is now revealing the first information.
Fans rest assured there won’t be any big changes. The first EA Sports FC will have over 300 sports licensing partners. This new title will offer the same experiences with leagues, tournaments, clubs and players. The famous Ultimate Team mode will be back, with Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football mode.
The promise of Electronic Arts will be kept, since in total, EA Sports FC will offer more than 19,000 players, more than 700 teams, more than 100 stadiums and 30 leagues under official license. This includes exclusive partnerships with the Premiere League, La Liga, Bundesliga, La Serie A, MLS — and more to come.
EA Sports FC will be, in the words of Electronic Arts, a new independent platform that will allow the publisher to have new opportunities to create, innovate and evolve. Even stronger, EA is committed “to making EA SPORTS FC a symbol of change”. Just that.
FIFA 23: the most ambitious FIFA ever
Before beginning its new adventure with EA Sports FC, Electronic Arts is committed to bringing players the “most ambitious” and “most accomplished FIFA ever”, with even more features, more game modes, plus all World Cup content, with more clubs, leagues, competitions and players than any other FIFA title.
