Final touches for Arduino IDE 2.0 – Translators wanted for language packs

The new version 2 of the Arduino IDE is almost ready, but some translations are still missing. The development team is therefore looking for people who can provide non-European translations in particular. The Transiflex program should also be used for this purpose.

According to the developers, these language packs are almost completely translated:

  • Chinese
  • Dutch
  • French
  • German
  • Japanese
  • Turkish

are wanted now translators for European languages like Portuguese or Hungarian, and more distant languages like Afrikaans or Nepali. The translations are done using the online tool transit flexon whose website you can also find a list of the languages you are looking for.

On Transiflex you can get the list of languages you are looking for.

If you want to work, you have to register and log in there: the first 14 days of Transiflex access are free. That should be enough for translating the menu and message texts. Please note: In order to check and use the new language versions, the latest version of the Arduino IDE (currently 2.0.0-rc7) should be installed.

As with the previous version, the language setting is made under Preferences in the File menu. There are instructions for doing this Video.
