Fire brigade: Heat weekend: More work for the Bottrop rescue service

The high temperatures at the weekend have added to some Bottropers. This also means more work than usual for the rescue service.

The high temperatures at the weekend – especially on Saturday – also meant that the Bottrop fire brigade had to work overtime. The rescue service in particular had more to do than usual. When asked on Sunday afternoon, the fire brigade reported that the volume was about a third higher than on other weekends. There, the increased deployments are actually attributed to the heat that has affected the people.

In fact, only the rescue service was affected, and there had been no operations for the fire engine up to that point, explained Andreas Schaefer when asked.
