The coach of the France team, Didier Deschamps, revealed this Thursday the list of players called up for the Nations League matches against Denmark (June 3), Croatia (June 6 and 13) and Austria (10 June). In midfield, midfielder Boubacar Kamara embodies the only surprise of this selection.
Didier Deschamps called Boubacar Kamara.
After its victory in this competition, the French team will put its title on the line with the return of the League of Nations. In June, the Blues will challenge Denmark (June 3), Croatia twice (June 6 and 13) and Austria (June 10).
And this Thursday, the tricolor coach Didier Deschamps has revealed his list for these appointments with a rather expected group, with the exception of a real surprise!
Clauss and Saliba remain in the group
For the goalkeepers, the former coach of Olympique de Marseille has made no changes: Hugo Lloris, Mike Maignan and Alphonse Areola logically retain his confidence. On the sides, Benjamin Pavard, absent due to Covid-19 in March, made his comeback, and Jonathan Clauss remained in the group. Tho Hernandez and Lucas Digne are obviously present.
In the axis, Raphal Varane, Presnel Kimpembe, Lucas Hernandez and Jules Kound were summoned by the boss of the Blues. Taking advantage of this expanded list, the tricolor technician also decided to keep central defender William Saliba, who had taken advantage of Pavard’s absence at the last meeting to find out about his first selections, in his group.
Great first for Kamara, Giroud absent
In the midfield, Deschamps simply chose to continue. Satisfied with the performance of his men over the last few months, the French technician has recalled Ngolo Kant, Matto Guendouzi, Adrien Rabiot and Aurlien Tchouamni. However, with the package of Paul Pogba, injured, there is still a real surprise with the first summons of Boubacar Kamara, preferred Eduardo Camavinga.
On the offensive level, it is obviously necessary to underline the great return of Karim Benzema, package during the last rally. Unsurprisingly, Olivier Giroud is the big loser of this choice and leaves the group. To accompany the former Lyonnais, DD still trusts Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbapp, Kingsley Coman, Christopher Nkunku, Moussa Diaby and Wissam Ben Yedder. An unsurprising list with the 2022 World Cup in the sights.
