Marvel Studios has found the new director of Blade
Besides the new director was also a brand new writer, Michael Starrburywhich boasts an Emmy nomination for an episode of the drama This is Us. Thanks to this new creative relaunch, current plans are to start production on the film in 2023 in Atlanta to meet the new release date on the calendar: September 6, 2024. The Blade reboot will be part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will see Oscar winner Mahershala Ali as the vampire hunter. A rumor had spread that the actor was somewhat frustrated with the length of the script (only 90 pages) and the lack of strong action scenes.
Mahershala Ali will therefore have to take up the great legacy of Wesley Snipes, who played Blade in three films, from 1998 to 2004. The actor has repeatedly revealed that he was a huge fan of his portrayal of him and has the utmost respect for him. Blade made his debut in The Tomb of Dracula #10 (July 1973) of Marvel Comics. Born Eric Cross Brooks, Blade is a dhampir, meaning a being born of a mortal human and an immortal vampire. Blade’s MCU “debut” occurred in one of the post-credits scenes of Eternals (2020)but without being framed. It was, in fact, a simple vocal cameo with Dane Whitman (Kit Harrington).
