Gaga and Bennett nominated for Emmys for concert

Mexico City.- Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett were added to the Emmy Awards last minute for their work on CBS’s 2021 concert special, One Last Time: an Evening with Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga.

Gaga and Bennett have been named co-nominees as they not only performed that night, but also hosted the special.

In addition, they will also share the award with five executive producers, three producers, and a supervising producer from the show, who were also confirmed as official nominees for the award.

One Last Time was filmed across two sold-out shows at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, in August 2021; it served both for Bennett’s 95th birthday celebration and for her last show.

Bennett has since revealed that he has been battling Alzheimer’s since 2016 and has retired from the public eye.

Lady Gaga spoke with 60 minutes after the recording of the program and expressed that she was nervous about Tony’s health:

“I wasn’t sure if he knew who I was when that music comes on, something happens to him, he knows exactly what he’s doing.

“When I came out on stage and he said, ‘It’s Lady Gaga!’ My friend saw me and it was very special,” said the star of The House of Gucci with Anderson Cooper.

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards will be on Monday, September 22.
