Galaxy Z Fold 3 gets One UI 4.1.1 with Windows-style doc

Samsung today sent the One UI 4.1.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold3, among the main news is the DOC for quick access to split-screen or popup applications, the Windows-style menu. There were also other improvements that you can see now.

Security patch?

The Security Patch is in July 2022, an update before Fold 4 that already has the August patch.

Now the Z Fold 3 has the same software version as the Z Fold4, except with the security improvements, which in the Fold 4 are in August, the Fold3 was still in July.

Switch between apps quickly

A taskbar now appears at the bottom of the main screen for faster navigation between apps.

Quickly open apps in split screen or in a pop-up window

To open apps, drag them from the taskbar or Recents screen, whichever is most convenient for you. To open in split screen, drag up, down, left or right of the screen. To open in popup, drag to the center of the screen.

Open app pairs quickly

Pair apps you often use together, then add them to your Home screen or taskbar so you can open them in split screen with just one tap.

Easy control of window options

You can make the window handle visible all the time, even when displaying only 1 app, for easier multitasking. On Display in split screen, there is also a new button in the window handle that allows you to open another app in the window.

Easily switch from popup to split screen

When you’re using a pop-up app, just tap the split-screen button inside the window handle. You will be able to choose a second app to open next to it.

Change the view with a gesture

Switch from Full Screen to Display. in split-screen by swiping with two fingers from the left, right or bottom of the screen towards the center. Switch from Full Screen to Display. in pop-up by swiping from any corner of the top of the screen towards the center with one finger. Gestures can be turned on or off in Settings.

Display app names in the Apps Edge Panel

Turn on Show app names so that app names appear under the app icons.

Easily switch between front and cover screens

Text can be extracted in Korean, English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish and Chinese.

Receive text-based suggestions from images

When text appears on an image in Gallery, Camera or other apps, actions will be recommended based on the text. For example, if you take a picture of a sign with a phone number or web address, you can tap to call the number or go to the website.

Easily identify the caller

Set a different background for each contact’s call, and you can easily identify the caller with a quick view only.
