The author of the books at the origin of the cult series gives some information on the projects of derived programs… apparently fewer than announced.
The universe of Game Of Thrones will it expand less than expected? While seven spin-off series projects have been talked about in the American press since the cult series ended in 2017, origin book author George RR Martin says several of them have been “put on hold” by the American channel HBO.
“Some have been suspended, but I wouldn’t say they are dead,” he wrote in a post on Wednesday. on his blog. “You can take something off a shelf with the same ease as you put it there.”
And to discuss “the changes” that HBO Max is going through, which he says have had an “impact” on these projects. The American streaming platform attached to the channel of the same name has indeed experienced a major upheaval in 2022, as recalled variety: its parent company WarnerMedia merged with Discovery in April to become Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. Budget cuts resulted, leading to the elimination of certain programs such as love-life Where minx.
Other programs still awaited
Nevertheless, other projects of series derived from Game Of Thrones seem to be on the right track: “Some are moving faster than others, as is always the case in the development phase. None have been validated yet, but we hope… maybe soon. “
