Genshin Impact player discovers Fullmetal Alchemist easter egg in game

The Fullmetal Alchemist anime has inspired numerous works since it was released in 2003, including now HoYoverse’s popular RPG. Yes, we’re talking about Genshin Impact, which gained a character reference to the Elric brothers and their sacrifices. The easter egg was reported by a user on Reddit, who showed an item that alludes to the work of Hiromu Arakawa.

In Fullmetal Alchemist there is a logic that surrounds the whole story, the “Law of Equivalent Exchange”, where alchemists are forced to sacrifice something to use great feats with their alchemy-based powers. This idea was spotted by user “Onepiece285” on Reddit, who shared an image with the description of a Genshin Impact item that references brothers Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric’s attempt to resurrect their mother, where unfortunately the experiment ends up going wrong and Alphonse loses his soul while Edward loses part of his limbs (right arm and left leg).

Heads up: The published video has nothing to do with the easter egg shared by the player.

Genshin Impact player discovers Fullmetal Alchemist easter egg in game

HoYoverse may have inserted a Fullmetal Alchemist easter egg in Genshin Impact.

User “Onepiece285” shared on Reddit an image of a 3-star decoration item called the Cauldron of Herbs, which is obtained through the Tablet Analytics Event and used to decorate the Serenitea Pot. The description tells about an alchemist named Hajanad who lost an arm and a leg to retrieve the item. The text even says that Hajanad is no longer dependent on the Cauldron of Herbs, despite the sacrifice to obtain a “new path of research”.

To obtain the Cauldron of Herbs in Genshin Impact and check out the Fullmetal Alchemist easter egg, the player will have to fight various enemies using specific test characters as part of the Tablet Analytics event, which is part of the game’s 3.0 update. The item can be used outdoors in the player’s quarters in Genshin Impact.
