After many adventures, the Santa Monica studio has just revealed the release date of the next adventures of Kratos.
The cataclysm of Ragnarök is closer than we thought… The Santa Monica studio has just revealed the release date of the sequel to the reboot of god of war released on PS4 in 2018. There’s not long to wait! Indeed, Kratos and Atreus return to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 next November 9.
The game was rumored to be released last week, but the studio changed its mind, prompting some ill-intentioned fans to harass the Santa Monica teams. Now, the release is recorded and it is to be hoped that the most impatient players will leave the developers alone.
After these setbacks, it’s time to rejoice since in addition to this announcement, Sony and the studio have reserved some surprises for us in the form of an exclusive trailer in computer graphics as well as major collector’s editions!
A completely hammer collector
For its release, the game will offer no less than five different editions. So as not to get lost, we have prepared a summary of the different versions offered:
- The edition “Launch” corresponding to a pre-order of the game which will offer special armor for Kratos as well as a skin for Atreus. The edition “Standard” will not have any special bonuses, so consider pre-ordering the game if you want some free bonuses. You can find it on many reseller sites at a price starting at €69.99 for the PS4 version and €79.99 for the PS5 version. Here are the links to the different shops:
- The edition “Digital Deluxe” will offer an armor for Kratos and a skin for Atreus (different from the version “Launch”), as well as special weapons, the soundtrack of the game, a digital artbook and what to customize your PlayStation profile with icons and a theme for PS4.
- The edition “collector” stands out from the others by the presence of physical bonuses. In addition to offering all the digital content of the “Digital Deluxe”, this one includes a steelbook, two figurines similar to the carved wooden toys of Atreus, a set of dice to play role-playing games and the most important: a replica of Mjölnir, the hammer of Thor.
- The edition “Jotnar” is a premium version of the already well-stocked “Collector’s Edition”. It contains all the content of its little sister, but offers a variant of dice for role-playing, adds a card, a ring, pins and even an exclusive vinyl.
However Warningalthough the editions “collector” and “Jotnar” contain a steelbook, physical game is not included and it will need to be downloaded from a code provided with your purchase. A very regrettable decision for versions that are nevertheless nicely provided.
It’s a safe bet that these editions will go like hot cakes, and Sony is planning for it by announcing the opening dates for pre-orders now. You will then have to be on the job on July 15 on the sites of your favorite retailers.. If you are not yet convinced, the studio offers an unboxing video of the collector’s editions of the game to give you a better idea of what to expect. Appointment on November 9 next to discover the new adventures of Kratos and Atreus on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5!
