Government announces increase of 600 pesos in gasoline for the end of this year

The Minister of Finance, José Antonio Ocampo, announced that starting in October, the a monthly increase of 200 pesos in the price of gasoline. The statements were made a few minutes ago at the end of the meetings he had today with the economic commissions (third and fourth) of the Congress of the Republic.

“The agreement with the president is that gasoline will be increased by 200 pesos a month, starting in October, for this year. The ACPM will not be increased, among other things, because there will be a change in the formula with which it is calculated,” said Ocampo.

This means that at the end of the year gasoline will have an increase of 600 pesos. The Ministry of Mines is expected to issue the resolution that will set the adjustment in the price of gasoline starting in October.

By the way, the minister had already announced last week that the monthly increase of 400 pesos had been discarded by the government. It is also known that the monthly fuel increases will continue next year and, although it will not happen for now, it is not ruled out that in the future there may be increases in the price of ACPM.
