Colo Colo and Universidad de Chile will face each other in version 190 of the Chilean soccer Superclásico, a name that has been questioned in recent days, given the wide difference in results between the two teams.
Out of 189 games played in the first division, the Chief won 86, on 55 occasions they ended in a draw and only 48 with victories for the Blues. To this we must add that the university cast does not know of triumphs since 2013.
But not only the popular cast knows of favorable numbers against the archrival, Gustavo Quinteros, in his career as a coach, he also knows of important victories against the classic rival with the diver Oriente Petrolero, Emelec, Universidad Católica and Colo Colo.
DT’s first victory was in the 2010 South American Cup when he led the oil team, a contest where Quinteros eliminated the Chileans after drawing 2-2 in the first leg and defeating them by the minimum count in the second leg of the continental tournament.
The favorable numbers of Quinteros.
Five years, in charge of Emelec, he beat Universidad de Chile 1-0 at the start of Group 4 of the Copa Libertadores 2015 at the National Stadium. The only goal of the game was converted by Miler Bolaños in the second half.
In 2019 the celebrations continued for the DT, convincingly defeating the U 4-0 this time at the command of the UC. The goals were scored by José Pedro Fuenzalida, Edson Puch, Duvier Riascos and Luciano Aued.
The victory most remembered by the Colocolinos took place this year on the fifth round of the National Championship, a match that ended 1-0 in favor of Colo Colo with a goal from Leonardo Gil in the 72nd minute.
Come on teacher! Let’s continue the streak!
