Great news for Wrestling and TV series fans. According to PWInsider, the great return of Heels is now very close, a show set in the colorful world of the well-known discipline and which saw Stephen Amell, returning from eight seasons of Arrow, step into the ring and take on the role of Jack Spade, wrestler of the fictional promotion DWL (Duffy Wrestling Association). The series was created by Michael Waldron, known for his contributions to Rick and Morty and Loki.
That’s when Heels’ second season arrives
The premiere of the second season will debut on October 9th, as always on Starz. Vikings star Alexander Ludwig will also be back on board as his brother Ace. Heels chronicles the vicissitudes of men and women chasing their dreams in the world of small-town professional wrestling. Set in a tight-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling federation as two brothers and rivals wage war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, someone has to be a good guy and someone has to play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, these characters can be difficult to manage.
As told by Stephen Amell exclusively to our microphones (you can read the complete interview here) Heels tries to tell through an introspective lens what happens behind the scenes of the colorful world of Wrestling, often made up of joys and sorrows. In the background the dreams and hopes of a small town where all the characters try to do something to make sense of their path. Former WWE Champion CM Punk (Phil Brooks) also appeared in the first season, now busy fighting in the All Elite Wrestling ring. Heels is also available in Italian on StarzPlaya platform full of exclusive original films and productions
