To combat the narcoguerra on Zacatecas, the federal authorities propose a reinforcement with 3 thousand 848 agents, the division of the state, as well as the use of three helicopter gunships of the army and the National Guard.

Luis Cresencio Sandoval, head of the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), assured that the Zacatecas II operation will go into operation as of this November 25, as the previous tasks have not been able to contain the violence and only in this 2021 are expected 1,500 murders linked to organized crime.

In the industrial and commercial part of Zacatecas, in the center, will be concentrated the majority of military personnel with 1,940 agents; while in the south they will be 1,104 and to the north just 804.

There are 2,114 elements of the Sedena in the state, of which, 1,744 are operational. From National Guard they work 1,800 agents, from them, 1,644 in security tasks. However, those forces will be gradually increased. They add to 1,137 state police and the rest of municipalities that they represent in total, 5,177 men throughout Zacatecas.

Too 16 National Guard barracks are expected to operate in Zacatecas in 2023, despite the fact that the three that are built in this 2021 have not been equipped.
