Here it will be minus 35: – Finally the cold comes

– Bardufoss had minus 20 degrees tonight until today, and the temperature can drop to minus 25 the next day, Roar Inge Hansen, meteorologist on duty at StormGeo, tells TV 2.

It will be even colder on the Finnmarksvidda which gets down to minus 35 degrees.

Per Edvard Johnsen at Nedre Mollisjok mountain lodge in Karasjok has 32 minus outside the door on Thursday afternoon.

– Finally the cold came. It has been so mild for a long time and now fortunately the rivers are freezing to ice. Then it will be safe to drive a snowmobile, says Per Edvard Johnsen.

– Sounds cold?

– No. That is how it should be at this time, he says.

In Bodø, group games will be played in the Conference League against “CSK Sofia” in minus six degrees on Thursday night.

It is guaranteed a cold pleasure especially for the players who left the Bulgarian capital in bright sun and eight degrees before taking the trip north of the Arctic Circle.

Colder weather

In Molde, the snow is already falling on Thursday afternoon, and it will continue to do so in large parts of Møre- and Romsdal and in Trøndelag for the next 24 hours.

– The good news is that this will happen during the weekend, says meteorologist Hansen.

In Troms and Finnmark there will be a lot of nice and cold weather on Friday, while Nordland will get some snow showers. Spitsbergen and Longyearbyen get partly cloudy weather, and a little colder – probably down to minus 20 degrees and changing breezes.

The weekend weather

In southern Norway it will be cloudy, but pleasant weather. This type of weather lasts until the weekend.

– Saturday is mostly cloudy and unsafe for a little scattered snow, but Sunday gradually lighter weather with partly nice in Western Norway south of Stad, Hansen says.

– Monday, there is a new low pressure towards Western Norway from the northwest with opportunities for gales of changing direction with sleet and snow that turns to rain near the coast. Østafjells will be pleasant weather with a little sun, he continues.

In Eastern Norway it will be cold, with temperatures down to minus 25 degrees in northern areas.

Inland areas of northern Norway get mostly nice and cold weather, while the coastal areas of Nordland and Troms get increasing winds and some snow showers.

– Troms and Finnmark get periodically nice weather, but on Monday there are increasing opportunities for snow showers in Troms. In Nordland, there will be a more changing cloud cover and some snow showers. From Monday, increasing rainfall activities are reported, says Roar Inge Hansen, meteorologist on duty at StormGeo.

– There will also be increasing south and southwest winds throughout northern Norway and from Sunday gales in exposed places. Cold, especially in the inner areas of Troms and Finnmark with down to minus 35 degrees in the coldest places this weekend, Hansen says.
