At just 19 years old, Vadim Druelle achieved the incredible feat of climbing the Himalayas, the world’s largest peak. It took 13 hours for the young Savoyard to achieve this performance under very complicated conditions.

Vadim Druelle, 19, launched an extraordinary challenge: to climb the mountain of Manaslu (Nepal), which is the eighth highest summit in the world. The young Savoyard climbed the mountain for 13 hours, sleepless and without a bottle of oxygen, before achieving the feat. He is now the youngest Frenchman to have climbed such a summit, even if he was the victim of some hallucinations, which did not dampen his joy.

The young man is a member of the French alpine ski team. He got his passion from his parents, both mountain guides. “Since we were little we have been going to the mountains, we have taken him, we have never taken a 4×4 to go to the mountains. We have always learned to do it ourselves ”, says Véronique Fillon, Vadim’s mother. The young athlete also dreams of becoming a high mountain guide.
