Florian Silbereisen flops with the third show from “Schlager oder N! xxx” and enters a historic low. It couldn’t have been the guests.

Leipzig – That was probably nothing – the new hit show with Florian Silbereisen (41) flopped. After the broadcast date was postponed twice this year, the anticipation among the fans could have been great, but that wasn’t the case. The choice of the broadcast date was probably also partly to blame for the ratings flop of “Schlager oder N!xxx” (MDR).

The show format is not entirely new – before the long dry spell in 2022, Florian Silbereisen already presented two episodes. The last one was broadcast in September 2021 and achieved a market share of 13.1 percent. While these 366,000 viewers sound relatively meager by Florian Silbereisen’s standards, the numbers in the current episode should be shocking. The third edition of the TV format “Schlager oder N!xxx”, which is advertised with the slogan “Schlager has never been so much fun”, reached only 175,000 people and thus 5.3 percent.

In the duel Silbereisen against Gottschalk, the youngest show master had to take it

That is like a historic low for Silbereisen – a failure that we are not used to from the youngest showmaster. But it could well have something to do with the fact that the TV professional had serious, even legendary competition. Florian Silbereisen had to compete against TV icon Thomas Gottschalk (72) and “the biggest entertainment show in Europe”, as ZDF broadcaster calls it. Of course we’re talking about the cult show “Wetten, dass..?”, which, like “Schlager oder N!xxx”, was broadcast on November 19th at prime time – and also live. In comparison, the entertainment program achieved a total market share of 39.5 percent – more than 10 million people tuned in, reports DWDL.

The confidence in the Silbereisen show among those responsible for MDR must have been enormous that they selected a broadcast at the same time as “Wetten, dass ..?”. The broadcaster should have been aware that the hit format would suffer losses with the ZDF competition. At least it can’t have been due to the choice of the guests. Popular artists from the hit world were there: Daniela Alfinito, Ben Zucker, hit couple Marina Marx and Karsten Walter, the daredevils and Andy Borg, who had to work out their time on stage with fun tasks and games.
