Access the “Microphone” tab in Windows “Settings”
After opening the “Settings” tab of Windows, go to the “Privacy and security” option in the left menu and click on “Microphone”.
Enable or disable the microphone in Windows
Once that’s done, enable or disable microphone access. If you want, see and choose which apps can use your notebook’s microphone.

Go to the “Sound” tab in “System Preferences”
Open the “System Preferences” tab on your MacBook and click “Sound.”

Go to the “Input” tab in the upper corner, locate the “Output volume” item and check or uncheck “Mute” to enable or disable the notebook’s microphone.

If you want to enable or disable the microphone using a keyboard shortcut, the option is to install the program on your PC MicMute.
With the program installed, the default command to perform this action is “Ctrl + Alt”, but if you want to change it, right-click on the “Microphone” icon, select “Setup shortcut” and enter a new shortcut of your choice.
