The housing allowance has been increased, and at the same time the income limit up to which the housing allowance can be drawn has been raised.

In June, the Vorarlberg state government decided on a package of measures intended to cushion the effects of inflation and price increases on the population. The additional costs for the state amount to 20 million euros.

Housing assistance increased

On the one hand, the housing allowance was increased from July 1st and the group of those entitled to it was expanded by a higher income limit. In June almost 2.3 million euros were paid out in housing assistance, in July it was a good 3 million euros.

“Due to the adjustment of the income limit that was also made, significantly more people are entitled to benefits,” emphasizes Provincial Councilor Marco Tittler.
