Defeat for the Indians women against the Vienna Metrostars.
Dornbirn. The Dornbirn Indians softball team with pitcher Isabel Salcher started full of motivation in Game 1 last weekend at the sports facility in Rohrbach and took the lead with a run in the first inning. The metrostars were only able to write their first two runs in the third section. With a score of 3: 3 and a real chance for the Vorarlberg women to bring home their first win, the sixth inning went on. Bianca Mauracher started this with a double into the leftfield, followed by two more hits by Zoe Moosbrugger and Carla Langthaler, which allowed the guests from Vienna to write four runs. Also in the last inning the Indians could not fight back and finally had to admit defeat with 4:10.
In the second game, too, the Metrostars were clearly stronger offensively with a total of 22 hits. In the last inning, the metrostars wanted to show what they can again and finally won this game with eight hits and eleven runs with a final score of 22: 6.
Thus, the Dornbirn Indians ended their season without a win. There are no playoffs for them, in order to get even more playing experience, but the Indians will still be seen at the V-Cup in Vorarlberg. (cth)
