Andi Haid, Mayor Mittelberg, was at “Vorarlberg LIVE” on Thursday and spoke about the upcoming winter season, new projects and the emergency doctor situation in the community.
The winter season is just around the corner and according to a recent study, Austria is still one of the most popular winter tourism destinations in Europe. How is the Mittelberg community prepared? And how did you fare in the last ski season? Mayor Andi Haid talks about this and about new projects in Mittelberg today with Pascal Pletsch in “Vorarlberg LIVE”.
Around 5,000 inhabitants and an average of 1.8 million overnight stays per year: the Kleinwalsertal with the community of Mittelberg, which also includes Riezlern and Hirschegg, has always been a vibrant tourist region. Corona has hit the region quite hard. Normally the annual budget of the municipality Mittelberg was between 25 and 30 million euros, now 16 million. “We had to accept a loss of income between seven and eight million and this can no longer be made up. Tourism communities are extremely hard hit,” said Mayor Andi Haid, who was a guest at the moderator Pascal Pletsch and Vorarlberg Live.
Winter booking situation “very promising”
After what he thought was a “very good summer season”, the head of the municipality Haid is audibly optimistic about the upcoming winter season: “The infection figures allow a certain hope for a good winter season. The booking situation is promising, which I have heard from hoteliers so far.” They hope to be able to offer their guests a safe and good winter. As for the construction ban for investor models, which Mittelberg has also issued after Lech, he is certain: “We had to do that. We want tourism that is lived and we are fighting for it with all the means available to us have made a decision not to allow holiday homes in Mittelberg. “
So it is with the emergency medical care in Mittelberg
