The Infinix Zero 5G is Positivo’s bet to have a powerful intermediary and compete with more popular brands. On the other hand, Motorola tries to make its Moto G71 a more “affordable” premium model on the market.
In this duel between different proposals within the same smartphone segment, which of these models delivers the most interesting set to the user? Let’s find out the answer in this TudoCelular Comparison.

design
Infinix Zero 5G
We started with the design, with two cell phones made of plastic, but with elements that make them seem more expensive. That’s because the Zero 5G bets on the glossy effect on the rear that tries to imitate glass, while the G71 comes with a chromatic finish.
Anyway, the Moto still has elements that put it at the level of other even simpler models of the brand, mainly due to its block of oval cameras, already standard by Motorola, or even the fingerprint reader in the brand’s logo. Infinix, on the other hand, bets on several curves, to focus on both elegance and ergonomics, and places the biometric sensor on the side.
Motorola Moto G71 5G
Anyway, the front of these intermediates has a hole-shaped notch. The Moto G71’s body is the most compact and light of the duo. They lacked an IP certification to provide resistance against liquids and dust.
Infinix is the only one to offer a slot for storage expansion, via a microSD card. It also comes with sixth-generation Wi-Fi, more advanced than the rival’s fifth-generation. Moto is already above in the Bluetooth version and in the possibility of using NFC, for approximation payments.
We see distinct advantages on each side. So we started with a tie.

Screen
We found very different scenarios on screen. The Zero 5G has a 6.78-inch IPS LCD. It even has a good level of brightness, but it doesn’t quite match the 6.4-inch OLED display of the Moto G71, which is even better in terms of color calibration. At least, both offer Full HD+ resolution.
Infinix’s favor is the 120 Hz refresh rate, double that found on Motorola’s smartphone. In other words, fluidity is greater for Positivo’s partner. This is also the one that comes with the superior front harness. They only lacked a Gorilla Glass in them, to give an extra protection.
On the one hand, greater fluidity and screen-to-body ratio. On the other, superior material, more shine and better colors. One point for each again.

Sound
These manufacturers decided to save on audio and left only a mono speaker. In practice, you end up compromising immersion and limiting the quality that the sound system could offer.
At least, Infinix has more power than Moto. In terms of frequencies, none of them were so balanced between bass, mids and treble. Both still come with a physical connector for headphones, in addition to having the accessory in the package.
The most powerful sound of the Zero 5G gives it the point.

System
Both Infinix and Moto come out of the box with Android 11 pre-installed. They should get Android 12 in some future update, but don’t expect a frequency in the release of monthly security patches.
In terms of fluidity, the Zero 5G’s software is far superior to that of Motorola, thanks to the panel with a higher refresh rate. On the mobile network, the two do not disappoint, as they support 5G.
When we go to the resources, the Infinix interface delivers more differentials than the almost pure system of the G71. That’s because it has functions like XClone, to use more than one account on the cell phone; Game Mode, with tools to improve gameplay; and Smart Panel, to quickly access what you use most. Meanwhile, the competitor stands out only for the famous gestures, to trigger the camera or turn on the flashlight of the cell phone.
With greater fluidity and differentiated features, the device distributed by Positivo earns one more point.

Performance
On the one hand, we have the Dimensity 900 mobile platform on Zero 5G. On the other, the Snapdragon 695 appears to power the Moto G71. And our tests showed which one is the most agile. Infinix won that battle, performing about 20 seconds less overall. The distance was due to the performance of the cell phone of Positivo’s partner brand, which managed to match advanced models from other brands.
With this performance that we saw, it gave the logic in AnTuTu and in the numbers of Geekbench, with a comfortable victory for Zero 5G. At least, the two don’t disappoint when it comes to running games, it’s just that 120 fps support in compatible titles gives Zero 5G an advantage.
Infinix scores for better multitasking performance.

Drums
On both sides we find a 5,000 mAh battery. Do they yield time in practice? The Zero 5G managed to exceed 30 hours of autonomy in our tests, but the time is only 20 minutes above the G71. Practically a technical draw.
In charging, both come with a 33 W plug adapter. And here we didn’t see much difference either. Moto takes advantage of 12 minutes, which ends up making up for the time unless it stays away from the outlet.
For this balance that we saw, we give each one a point.

camera
Each device has a triple set of rear cameras, but with different functions. The main 48 MP used by Infinix has good photos on sunny days, but lacks the colors and limited dynamic range, which leaves the photos blown and still below what the Moto can offer, with its 50 MP sensor. At night, at least the Zero 5G’s Super Night Mode is fantastic, but the rival is not far behind.
Only the G71 offers an ultrawide lens, which may even exaggerate the contrast, but has a greater utility for the user. The Zero 5G prefers to provide a telephoto, with 2x optical zoom, which does not deliver good quality when images are zoomed in.
The Infinix’s telephoto can also be used for macro mode, only it doesn’t do much different than what Motorola’s dedicated camera can do. In addition to serving for background blur, in place of the third weakest sensor.
The Moto takes the point for the photos a little higher in the general quality and for the presence of the ultrawide lens.

Photos taken with the Infinix Zero 5G
In video recordings, only the Zero 5G is capable of recording in 4K. Stabilization is only available in Full HD resolution, the same as the Moto G71 can record. Their focus is unsurprising, while the audio capture is stereo, but underwhelming on them.
For the 4K footage, the point goes to Infinix.

Photos taken with the Motorola Moto G71 5G
These cell phones have a 16 MP front camera. The selfies of the two are decent, but the Zero 5G lacks contrast and registers less detail than the G61, whether during the day or at night. Moto even fails to disable HDR in portrait mode, but it still maintains the sharpness of the skin above what the rival can. In front-facing footage, both are limited to Full HD.
Moto takes the point here.

price
The Infinix Zero 5G was officially launched in Brazil for BRL 2,500, below the BRL 2,700 suggested price charged by the Moto G71. The current market scenario has changed, and the Motorola model is the only one that can be found for less than R$2,000 at the moment.
In this way, the G71 ends the duel with the last point.

completed
The tight score shows that in many aspects you will find advantages on each side. The Zero 5G, for example, has the most modern design and the screen with high fluidity. On the other hand, the Moto G71 is the one that offers the most compact body, has NFC and OLED display with greater brightness.
The Infinix device still provides the most powerful sound, the most distinctive system and the fastest performance. Motorola’s, on the other hand, is more accurate in camera photos, even lagging behind in videos. On battery, we have a good balance in autonomy and charging time.
Perhaps the price is a factor that influences more than the score in your choice. That’s because the Moto G can be found for a value below the rival in the Brazilian market. And a cell phone that hurts your pocket less, but isn’t so far behind in its features, could be an ideal solution for you.
