It looks like Apple Music is coming to the PlayStation 5

Will you soon be able to use Apple Music on PlayStation 5? At least it looks like that!

Is Apple Music coming to PlayStation 5 anytime soon? At least it looks like it could happen anytime soon.

on Reddit a user posted a photo showing Apple Music as a download option on the PS5.

Does not work yet

When the user tried to download the app, however, there was an error message: “This app only works on the PS4.”

This is a standard message when an app is not available. Many of the media apps on the PS5 are still PS4 apps that run via backward compatibility.

Still in the test phase?

Our English Eurogamer colleagues have triesto reproduce that.

A newly created UK account failed to get to the Apple Music screen, but a new US account did. The next time it was tried, it did not show up again, which suggests that it was either a strange error (unlikely) or a test (likely).

With Apple Music already available on various other devices, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the service on the PlayStation as well. Sony also recently announced a partnership with Apple that will give PS5 owners six months of free access to Apple TV +. A collaboration on Apple Music does not seem unlikely.

Furthermore, Apple has planned an event for next Monday, October 18, 2021. The company is expected to introduce new MacBooks there. And maybe Apple Music for the PlayStation 5 too?
