Microids seems determined to recover and has just lifted the veil on its new project, namely the remake of Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja.
In full swing, the publisher and developer Microids continues its path in the video game industry. While the company is working on multiple projects – moreover, news of Marsupilami and the Smurfs fell today – the company has just lifted the veil on a new title (or almost): Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja .
Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja back in 2022
Joe & Mac, kezaco? History to refresh the memory of some, it is a cult title released in 1991 in Japan on arcade terminals, before landing on Amiga and home consoles, including Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Mega. Drive. Suffice to say that it will not speak to everyone, and yet: on the strength of an adventure combining action and platform brilliantly, this journey planted in a colorful prehistory and developed by Data East had greatly marked the spirits.
Thirty years later, Microids decided to give it a huge makeover with a thoughtful remake. It is notably designed by the French from Mr. Nutz Studio, who have already delivered a similar overhaul (that of the Toki cult that took place in 2019) and who are currently working on the promising Asterix & Obelix: Slap them All !. Again, the studio operates a total graphic rework, featuring hand-made graphics and polished animations.
More than just a remake
Well aware that an outright remake would not be enough, Microids and Mr. Nutz Studio have therefore decided to bring a little new blood to the project, in particular par the creation of a whole new Adventure mode, with new levels and “Many other surprises” which still remain to be revealed.
Obviously, we suspect that in addition, the OST would benefit from a very special care, as the gameplay, the ergonomics or perhaps the scoring functions. which should be modernized.
Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is expected in 2022 on consoles and PC.
