John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain and Elvis would look like this if they were alive today according to this Artificial Intelligence

Have you ever wondered what they would look like John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley or Janis Joplin if they were alive today? Well, an Artificial Intelligence has made it possible to take a look at those parallel universes where they are still alive.

In recent weeks we have studied how these Artificial Intelligence platforms have already been used obsessively to create images and portraits that are difficult even for the human imagination to project.

It started, more or less, all in Japan, when anime fans started feeding these systems to turn animated characters into hyper-realistic illustrations that showed us what the cast of Slam Dunk, Sailor Moon or Dragon Ball would look like if they were flesh and blood. .

But then when that phenomenon came to America we started to see some interesting variations. Where, for example, they now used AI systems to turn the actors from Friends into animated characters by Pixar.

Now this trend has taken a new leap, showing elderly portraits of rock stars who have been dead for years.

Artificial Intelligence gives a face to John Lennon’s old age

The colleagues of Rock pop They share with us in an interesting article the story of photographer and lawyer Alper Yesilta and his project with the collection of portraits as if nothing had happened.

Where the multifaceted artist has created a series of portraits of rock and popular culture icons using Artificial Intelligence to discover what these dead stars would look like if they were still alive:

This is how in his project gallery we can find singers and artists such as Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Janis Joplin, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and Bruce Lee among others.

According to Yesilta himself, the most difficult part of the creative process would be to make the image look real and tangible, as if it had been taken by a photographer.

But the origin of this project has a warmer core full of feeling, triggered by nostalgia for what is impossible to witness in real life:

“With the development of AI technology, I have been excited for a while, thinking that ‘anything imaginable can be shown in reality.’

When I started playing with technology, I saw what it could do and thought about what would make me the happiest. I wanted to see some of the people I missed in front of me again and that’s how this project came about.”

To create the portraits, Alper Yesiltas used image enhancement software like AI Remini and photo editing programs like Adobe Lightroom and VSCO.

Mixing together in the right balance made these more realistic portraits possible. Here are some examples of his work:
