Mexico City.- A federal judge ordered Laura Bozzo to enter the Santiaguito Prison, State of Mexico, within 48 hours, as part of a process that started her for selling a property seized by the SAT and with which she had guaranteed a tax debt. of more than 13 million pesos.
In case of not doing so, the judge will order her apprehension and she will be sought by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to arrest her, informed officials of the Federal Judicial Power.
The control judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center of Almoloya de Juárez linked the television host to the trial for the crime of unfaithful depository, which consists of disposing of a deposited asset for their own benefit, to the detriment of the federal treasury.
The crime is sanctioned by article 112 of the Federal Tax Code with three to nine years in prison when the value of the asset involved is greater than 172 thousand 830 pesos, as in the case of Bozzo, and also does not have the benefit of the release on bail or bond.
That is why the judge in the case issued justified preventive detention for the accused, considering that he could not prove her tax address either, which creates a risk that she may flee.
Therefore, the judge gave him a period of 48 hours to voluntarily enter the Santiaguito Prison, warning him that, if he failed to comply with the court order, he would order his capture.
In 2018, REFORMA announced that the Tax Administration Service (SAT) had granted a tax credit to Bozzo of 17 million 44 thousand pesos, due to omissions in the payment of ISR, VAT and IETU in fiscal year 2012, when he hosted the program “Laura on Televisa”.
On February 8, 2018, Bozzo proposed to the SAT to seize “a real estate of his property” to guarantee the debt, but the tax agency rejected the offer.
Judicial data indicate that Bozzo guaranteed 13 million 769 thousand pesos with said property, however, he later sold it, which caused the tax authorities to report it to the FGR. From this complaint derives the process that now has her on the brink of jail.
