Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel reunited in a period film

Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel will play in “The Pot au feu”, in front of the camera of Tran Anh Hung, director of “The Smell of Green Papaya”.

Pot au feuis the title of the film, currently being shot, which brings together Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel, in front of the camera of Tran Anh Hung, director of Cyclo and of The smell of green grandpa. Produced by Gaumont, the film evokes the relationship between the gourmet Dodin-Bouffant – a character born from the pen of the writer Marcel Rouff in the 19th century and inspired by the French gastronome Brillat-Savarin – and his cook Eugénie.

According to variety, the project, presented at the Cannes Film Market, has already attracted international distributors. He notably benefited from the culinary insights of the great multi-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire.

Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel, once in a relationship – they have a daughter named Hannah – shared the poster in 1999, Children of the century, by Diane Kurys. In this period film, they played another passionate couple, George Sand and Alfred de Musset.

Juliette Binoche recently starred in Claire Denis’ film, With love and determination, opposite Vincent Lindon, released last February. She will also be in the series, The Staircasebased on the true story of American writer Michael Peterson, accused of murdering his wife.

Benoît Magimel won the César for best actor last February for his role in De son vivant, by Emmanuelle Bercot.
