Juric is furious over the sale of Lukic, trying to change the mentality of a club that always makes the same mistakes
Not expecting anything from a January market session, especially in bulls, is always a good idea. Pretending that the team is not weakened is instead sacrosanct, especially if we are talking about a Turin still in the running for the Italian Cup but also for a European placement, with all the difficulties of the case which it is useless to list here. Juric’s rage yesterday at Castellani – the granata coach was so furious that he didn’t show up on television microphones after the game – is that of someone who feels cheated by a club that on the one hand seems to satisfy him (the infamous midfielder who the Croatian has been waiting since the summer) but on the other he risks depriving him of a fundamental player such as Lukic, one of those who yesterday in Empoli with his entry changed the face of the Bull. A quality player comes in but needs to settle in, a pillar of the grenade midfield comes out: is this strengthening yourself? “You need a hard core to keep to which you can add some elements”, Juric explained at the press conference on Saturday, explaining what his point of view is but which should also be that of a company that plans and looks ahead. The sensation is instead the usual one: a team is assembled, between owned players, players on loan whose card will never be detected and others clearly passing through, then the following year it starts all over again. A team is assembled and disassembled so that it will always have a good excuse for fail to achieve goals: because he’s been together for a while, because he needs time, because he’s lost important players. If the idea is to survive as usual, to float like every year – when it goes well and you don’t risk the B – then maybe someone should warn Juric, the only one who still believes that his ambition can infect the club. And that he is at a crossroads: homologate and accept the decisions or give up.
