“I’m certainly not a player who plays to 38. I still have three and a half years of contract until the summer of 23. Then I’ll be 33. That’s a good age to think about what else I want if I don’t have a contract that runs for four years.”Toni Kroos already cast a prophetic look at the coming year in February 2020.
The facts have not changed since then. Kroos has not extended his contract with Real Madrid and is currently not making any moves to change anything. The Royals have already found a player they want to be the successor.
Bellingham is first choice
As the ‘Mundo Deportivo’ reports, Jude Bellingham is the “first choice” by Real. In the Spanish capital, however, people are aware of the astronomical price tag that Borussia Dortmund gave the 19-year-old. Accordingly, BVB has set the price for the coming year at 150 million euros.
‘Sport’ brings other Kroos heirs into play: Real are also interested in Nicolò Barella (25) from AC Milan, Bruno Guimarães (24) from Newcastle United and João Gomes (21) from Flamengo.
Hoping for Gomes
Especially with the latter, Real has high hopes of being awarded the contract with an offer worth 30 million euros. However, Liverpool FC and Manchester United also want to make an offer for the Flamengo jewel. At the Sugar Loaf, the six is under contract until the end of 2025.
