Six people died after the truck in which they were traveling got lost and fell down a 300-meter abyss in the district of Pataz, province of the same name, in the mountains of the La Libertad region.
The tragic accident occurred this weekend, when the BEH-757 plate truck suffered an oversight at the height of the Socorro annex. Six people, apparently relatives, were traveling in it.
Due to the seriousness of the impact suffered by the vehicle, all the occupants died.
The victims were identified as Leandro Ruiz Juárez (43), driver of the vehicle; César Aladino Ruiz Anticona (42), Rosemary Rosalía Ruiz Ramírez (22), Adán Pedro Mata Reynaldo (41), Eva Angélica Polo Nolasco (34) and a 4-year-old girl.
Serenos de Pataz, police and firefighters carried out the rescue of the bodies that ended up scattered within a radius of 5 meters from the point where the truck hit.
The bodies were transferred to the city morgue and, hours later, relatives were able to take the bodies to their places of origin in order to give them a Christian burial. Police are investigating the causes of the accident.
