Mexico City.- A shooting inside family courts in Ciudad Obregón, in the Municipality of Cajeme, Sonora, left two people dead and two wounded.
“First testimonies indicate that the private litigant Álvaro, 65, shot his client and nephew Carlos Ignacio, 27, after they argued over a family case that they both had,” the State Attorney’s Office reported.
“The aggressor, after the attack, got into a nearby cubicle and shot himself in the temple, injured he received help to be transferred to a hospital for medical attention, but minutes later he died.”
The events occurred in the morning, around 9:00 am, at the offices of the State Judiciary located in the center of Ciudad Obregón.
After the attack, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the State, Francisco Gutiérrez, assured that they had not registered an event like that in more than 100 years.
He added that they will place metal detector arches in the facilities.
Just this Monday, also in Ciudad Obregón, a 3-year-old boy died, and his parents were injured, after being attacked while traveling in a car.
According to local media, the attack was registered at around 1:00 p.m. on Monday from another moving vehicle.
