LockerGoga ransomware: decryption tool released

The developers of the antivirus software Bitdefender and the NoMoreRansom initiative have a free LockerGoga ransomware decryption tool encrypted data published. Signs of LockerGoga infection are the presence of files with the “.locked” file extension. The group behind the ransomware has been dormant since October 2021, when law enforcement arrested 12 suspected members. Instructions for the free tool can be viewed here. LockerGoga is a ransomware family discovered in January 2019 after successful attacks on several companies in the United States of America and Norway.
