Kem Cetinay (26), known as the winner of “Love Island UK” in 2017, was involved in a fatal car accident on Thursday morning.
The 26-year-old is said to have been out driving his Mercedes in Essex, when a motorcyclist suddenly drove into his car. The motorcyclist was thrown onto the asphalt and was seriously injured. After half an hour, he was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service told The Mirror that the driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. They also say that the driver was not arrested.
Cetinay’s representative said the following in a statement to Mail Online:
“This morning Kem was involved in a traffic accident near his home in the Brentwood area at approximately 11:30am. Tragically, a motorcyclist died in the collision. Kem has assisted the police and is being treated as a witness to the incident. Kem will not comment further on this matter other than to offer his deepest condolences, prayers and sympathy to the motorcyclist’s family and friends.”.
Kem Cetinay is famous for winning season three of Love Island UK in 2017. He dated fellow contestant Amber Davies, but the couple chose to split four months after leaving the villa.
He has later appeared in several reality shows, including “The Weakest Link”, “Celebrity MasterChef” and “Dancing On Ice”.
