Lanús surprised Banfield and won the southern classic by overcoming it 2-1 in an acceptable match that they played this afternoon, in the continuation of the nineteenth round of the Professional League.
Yonathan Cabral, at 47 minutes into the first half, and Franco Orozco, at 39 minutes into the second half, were the authors of the goals with which the “Granate” team claimed victory, while Andrés Chávez, at 43 minutes into the second time, discounted for the “Drill”.
Defender Aarón Quirós, from Banfield, was sent off 21 minutes into the second half for a double warning.
With this victory, Lanús cut a streak of four winless games and left the bottom of the table, while “Drill” missed the opportunity to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana.
On the 21st, Banfield will visit Huracán, on Friday the 23rd at 7:00 p.m.; while the next day at 3:30 p.m., Lanús will receive San Lorenzo.
