LR Presidency: Ciotti, Pradié and Retailleau will appear before the National Council of the party in November

BFM TV INFO. The party will organize in the fall the hearing of the candidates who want to take the lead of the party. Éric Ciotti is the big favorite in this election which will take place next December.

Demonstrate transparency to convince. Less than three weeks before the official filing of candidacies to succeed Christian Jacob at the head of the Republicans, the movement announces the organization of a National Council in November at the party’s headquarters.

Bruno Retailleau, Aurélien Pradié and Éric Ciotti are all three candidates to become the boss of LR with differences on the political line to adopt, after three consecutive defeats in the presidential election.

Three men with different profiles

The deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes who came first in the primary of the right before being beaten by Valérie Pécresse, defends a right “which assumes itself”, in frontal opposition with Emmanuel Macron.

Bruno Retailleau displays a more conservative profile, carried by the LR senators whose group he leads in the Senate and its president, Gérard Larcher. As for Aurélien Pradié, the MP for Lot appears to be an outsider in this election and defends the ideological renewal of the right, which he calls for to better take social issues into account.

Ciotti in pole position

Each of them will be auditioned before the national advisers to present his project which will aim to rebuild the right for the next presidential election. Éric Ciotti has for his part already warned: he sees in Laurent Wauquiez, the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the natural candidate for 2027.

The first round of the congress will be held on December 3 to 4 before a possible second round on December 10 and 11 and will be reserved for activists who have paid their dues.

The deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes is for the moment considered as the big favorite of the internal competition and leaves with an advantage: he leads in the Alpes-Maritimes the largest LR federation in France.
