Photos in lingerie of Madonna, where a piece of nipple appears, have been deleted by the social network. The star published them again, and denounces censorship.
“I find that mind-boggling.” It was an angry Madonna who took to Instagram on Thursday night. The queen of pop published a long message in which she blames “the censorship” of the social network. An open letter that accompanies a series of photos in lingerie, which had been deleted by the platform because of an apparent “nipple”.
“I repost photos removed by Instagram without warning or notification …”, begins the American singer. “The reason that was given to my team, which does not manage my account, is that a small part of my nipple was exposed.”
“Four decades of censorship”
Madonna continues, claiming to find that “staggering that we still live in a society that allows us to show every inch of a woman’s body, except her nipple”.
“As if it was the only part of a woman’s anatomy that could be sexualized,” she annoys. “The nipple that feeds the baby! Can’t a male nipple be experienced as erotic? !! And what about a woman’s buttocks, which are never censored anywhere.”
“I am grateful for having managed to preserve my sanity through four decades of censorship, sexism, agism and misogyny,” adds the 63-year-old popstar.
