Arsenal have upped their offer for Lisandro Martínez. According to a report in the Daily Star, the Gunners are ready to shell out the equivalent of €35m for the Ajax Amsterdam defender. The Dutch champions had rejected the original offer of almost 30 million euros, knowing that other clubs also have the 24-year-old in their sights.
The arrival of Martínez, whose contract runs until 2025, would give Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta plenty of other options, as the Argentina international can be used in central defence, central midfield and at left-back. Ajax, meanwhile, are on the brink of losing another regular after the departures of Ryan Gravenberch (20) and Noussair Mazraoui (24).
