The Chamber of Deputies unanimously accepted this afternoon Sergio Massa’s resignation from his bench as legislator for the province of Buenos Aires.
The now designated as Minister of Economy, Productive Development and Agriculture, will take office this Wednesday.
Subsequently, the Deputies voted as president of the legislative body until December, the Buenos Aires legislator of the Front of All (FdT) Cecilia Moreau -the first woman to hold the position-, in an election in which the interbloc of Together for Change and the Left decided to abstain.
“Today one stage ends and another begins tomorrow,” Massa said. “Know that starting tomorrow I am going to come to this house a thousand times to seek that among all of us who have the conviction and commitment that this is a slightly better country, we can, beyond differences, give Argentines state policies “.
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Cecilia Moreau, thanked her peers on Tuesday for “the honor as a political activist” of having been appointed to that position, highlighted her “additional responsibility for being a woman” and anticipated that she will not govern with her “hormones “, but he will do it with his “head and convictions”.
“I want to thank my colleagues for the honor as a political activist to have been designated at this stage as president of the Chamber. I assume the commitment to express the highest institution of democratic representation,” he added in his inauguration speech.
