Mexican stock market opens in green; highlights GCC action

The stock markets of Mexico operate with gains this Thursday morning, one day before knowing an expected employment report in the United States that could give more clues about the next steps of the Federal Reserve (Fed).

the leading index S&P/BMV IPC of the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), which groups the 35 most liquid local stocks, gains 0.73% to 47,332.02 points. The FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), earns 0.71% at 983.71 units.


Within the benchmark index, most stocks are trading at a profit, with 22 in green and 13 in red. The best performances are GCCwith 3.06%; FEMSA, with 1.92%; Regional, with 1.56%, and Alsea, with an advance of 1.56 percent.

“Positive stock markets on Thursday, supported by corporate earnings and stronger economic reports for June and July, leading investors to ease fears of a possible recession,” explained Grupo Financiero Banorte.
