One day after the inauguration Qatar World Cup 2022, Mexico, United States and Canada they started the countdown towards the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in those three North American countries.
In a soccer field, in front of young soccer players of different nationalities, the chancellor of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard; United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken; and the Minister of International Development of Canada, Harjit Sajjan.

“Today is the first preparatory event for the 2026 World Cup,” said Ebrard.
The Secretary of Foreign Affairs explained that each of the three countries that will jointly organize the sports fair will work on infrastructure, but in coordination with the other nations.

He highlighted the value of North America, as an integrated region, organizing the next World Cup.
“It is the first time that there is a World Cup organized by three countriesIt is the first time that a region of the world is projected as such”, he stated.
