Microsoft has made several attempts to attract Japanese gamers to the Xbox by releasing exclusive titles for the console. It went best during the Xbox 360 era when they launched Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, among other things, and apparently we can look forward to more of this stuff.
During Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show event, Xbox head Sarah Bond was asked if we can look forward to more titles like the aforementioned duo, to which she replied:
“Completely. One of the things that I’m super excited about is that we have over 250 developers in Japan developing games for Xbox right now. 150 have already shipped, 100 of them are in Game Pass and we [recently] got to announce 15 titles made in Asia and 13 in Japan. So much has come, but there’s even more that’s going to come in the future and I can’t wait to reveal it to you all as it starts coming out.”
We don’t know exactly which titles are involved yet (although some projects are known such as Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima making an Xbox title and Ghostwire: Tokyo Tango studio Gameworks has an Xbox project in the works), but it anyway, it seems that fans of Japanese games have a lot to look forward to.
