Algeria will be among the leading African countries in the production of edible oil after the commissioning of the last two production plants, confirmed the Minister of Commerce Kamel Rezig.
The statement by the Minister of Commerce, Rezig comes as he proceeded today, Thursday August 4, 2022, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zeghdar, to the inauguration of an edible oil refining unit with a production capacity of 400 tons.
Rezig indicated that the oil production unit “El Mahroussa” of the Agrodiv group will be able to produce 400 tons of table oil, noting that the average daily consumption of this substance in Algeria is estimated at 1,600 tons.
In this regard, the Minister considered that the commissioning of this line would reassure the Ministry of Commerce and ensure the proper dissemination of this material throughout the national territory. export in the next two to three years.
On the other hand, the first head of the trade sector confirmed that Algeria will become among the leading African countries in the production of edible oil, after entering the Katama factory in Jijel and another project in Tipaza. .
“Rahma” markets for the sale of school supplies
An instruction was given to support merchants of school supplies, by the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, to prepare for the start of the 2022/2023 school year, by creating “Rahma markets” for the provision of these supplies throughout the national territory.
Rezig chaired a meeting, attended by central ministry officials and regional and national trade directors, at which the decision to set up these Rahma markets was taken.
It should be noted that according to an official at the level of the Ministry of Commerce, these markets will be operational from the 15th of the current month, through all the wilayas of the country.
