Moria is 75 years old, but she is an ageless woman. Autonomous from a very young age, visionary, feminist from the first hour, defender of minorities, forward-thinking and always provocative. Today she lives one of her best moments, super in love.
I chose this iconic woman for the first interview of my cycle in Infobae, which will be seen twice a week on all media platforms. No need to explain why, right?
“Yes, I am ‘engalmarinada'”she says referring to her courtship with him Galmarini Duck. “I would tell you that what happens to me is epic because it doesn’t look like anything. If I had to explain it to you it would be difficult, because it is something that I feel. I was always able to explain things, but it was difficult for me because I was very much in love with myself, so there was a part of me that would not give way, but now I am living a romance … I don’t know, a crush, a crush ”.
And he tells details of the beginnings of their relationship: “It was seven months ago, a little earlier clandestinely, two or three months clandestinely ”.
They almost coexist: “I stay on weekends and sometimes on weekdays, it depends. Access to it was not the key, it was the toothbrush”. It also revealed details of life together. “I cause chaos in someone else’s house, let him get used to my chaos, which is organized chaos because I have so much, a dressing room that I can’t even go in … But I’m going kind of Big Brother with a briefcase ”.
Almost installed in the historic Peronist leader in San Isidro, although he also continues to live at his home in Parque Leloir, he reveals an unusual anecdote from when they met. “He quotes me one day, when I was doing Incorrect, and he says to me: ‘Moria, for me you are an incredible character and I would like you to be part of mixing sport and culture.’ And he asked me where he could meet me to have a coffee, we met around the canal, and he proposed a meeting but he doesn’t know how to explain it very well, he’s a Peronist sarasa ”, he closes with a laugh.
“The point is that I promised him that I was going to go to a new meeting and I did not go because it was complicated. Then he starts to send me by Whatsapp things all black and white: Perón, Evita, the march … It was the Volver channel! He made me laugh, I sent him mouthful emoticons, and I started to get hooked. At that moment I meet Poidomani (Héctor, plastic artist), he falls in love, I get married in Florence, and the next day I separated because the pandemic came. And Galma starts sending things again ”.
-Now you are a woman in love at 75
-Yes, at 75 me and he at 79. And what this couple has done, I think, is that they have revitalized the concept of temporality. It is a vigorous couple. Neither he seems to be 79 years old – who turns 20 December – nor I who just turned 75. Neither gives the age … because we have, I don’t know, we have skin …
The conversation becomes more intimate and for the first time an incredible blooper who lived on the first date tells: “One divine day he says to me: ‘Are you inviting me to go to your house to sunbathe?’, And I say: ‘Come on, come ‘. We had a coffee under the gazebo and I saw that all the time there was a cloth, a black thing thrown on the floor. And I ask him: ‘And what is this black?’ ‘Oops, it’s my boxer shorts.’ He had dropped it !! He had been in the pool, put on his pants and you can see that he was hooked. I said: ‘film this because later they will think I’m crazy or I’m lying.’ For a guy to drop his pants on a first date is crazy”.
-You come to be Massa’s mother-in-law.
-Ah yes, yes, divine. They are a lovely family. The truth is that I have been received with a love, an unconditionality, followed yesterday I was having dinner with Sergio and Malena.
-Does Massa laugh, does he have fun with what happens between you?
-Yes, we have fun with everyday things, Sergio has a lot of humor, Malena too. It is a powerfully assembled family, how they help and support each other, because they are all in power, they are in politics and in sports, and they are always very, very close. I didn’t think they were so close, so family.
Moria says that the couple fell in love with people. “We are very charismatic and it has to do with having a contemporary next to me,” he reflects. Assures that this is a love “that is unlike anything, it is much more passionate than everything, it is much more vigorous than everything, and very different from everything. You can be, I don’t know, by clock, three hours looking at you ”.
It is surprising when he tells how those moments are when they only look at each other: “It’s very rare. We are left as discovering ourselves. Sure, so much life … And as we talk, I discover his life, and he mine. I already know his entire family, and all his sons-in-law, and all his grandchildren, who have two administrations, have five children, eleven grandchildren ”.
Very relaxed, she also confesses how the first kiss was. “I gave it to him, one day I was at home, he grabbed my hand and I gave him the kiss there. He always very respectful, already too much. At one point I told him ‘I lack respect because it is too much’”.
Sofía Gala said ‘they love each other’, do they love each other?, asked. “It’s a new way of feeling for me, I wasn’t used to looking at myself with a guy for three hours,” she says, like a teenager.
Before the name of Mario Castiglione, an Alfonsinist as opposed to Galmarini who is a Peronist, and the possibility of a common point, he answers: “I like men who read. I like the informed person, the read person, the one who reads economics, politics, philosophy. I like people who have humor. And I like people with heads, I like smart people. Mario Castiglione conquered me for his intelligence and then he fought me for my intelligence (laughs). I mean, it was a competition ”.
Moria defines what she is passionate about: “I die for philosophy.” And she says she is reading “feminist books” like The promise of happiness by Sara Ahmed, along with another book by Nadya Tolokonnikova, Pussy Riot: From subversive joy to direct action.
-Speaking of your feminism, what did you feel when the president blamed his wife, Fabiola, for the famous meeting in Olivos?
– I did not feel anything, I totally detach myself from what the President, the Vice President, of Macri says … Because this is a country in which they fight all the time. Martin Fierro used to say “if the insiders fight, the outsiders will devour them.” The insiders fight here and the insiders devour them, and the truth is that I didn’t feel anything. I’m not interested in anything.
And he says more: “This is a new era to project and continue further and further in our heads, not to choose that a State that governs or thinks of manipulating or depending on a State. I always depended on me, so what the president says, whoever it is, De la Rúa, Menem, everyone we had, is not part of my business. The State does not give me anything. I never received a peso from the state. I would have to have a retirement from the mother end that gave birth to him, I have a shitty retirement. So, I manage myself. I am not interested in what any president says about anything, I remain firm as a horse forwards whoever I am, the soldiers are there, Menem is there, the president who is I always work, I do my thing, nobody ever gave me any envelope, it does not depend on anyone, it depends on me ”.
He also talks about the strict quarantine that was experienced last year. “It was the best time of my life, because I had no responsibilities, I didn’t have to work or do anything. For the first time in my life, since I was 12 years old ”. On the increase in poverty as a result of the pandemic, he says: “I pay all my taxes, I don’t feel guilty of anyone’s poverty. According to what I pay, there shouldn’t be a boy on the street”.
Finally, he is encouraged to meddle with television news. “I feel like TV devalues you, I don’t want to do it. I’m sick of seeing food, of people cooking and sick of seeing nutritionists who tell you how to lose weight. You see how many deaths there are from covid, then go on to an entertainment program, it’s a shaker. I don’t find it entertaining. I love TV, but right now I’m on another ”.
He states that he did not feel like voting in 2019, but that he does now. That Argentines do badly because we are screwed, that we stigmatize, that we do not like the other to do well. He never wanted to go live abroad “This country is wonderful, you have to enjoy it.”
“Always be flexible and adapt, because otherwise you will live bitter”, that is her motto. “Being a chameleon is my personality.” And that’s how she says it: This woman who always worked and works, who lives a passionate love, who reads and thinks, will continue to surprise us with her impudence until, at least, when she turns 100.
María Laura Santillán returned to television: her pain over the traumatic departure from Telenoche, the news and the “terror of dying”
