The scarcity will continue a little longer. It has been twenty years since any Habs won on the French Grand Prix circuit. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), fourth on the grid and Johann Zarco (Ductai), ninth after being penalized three places, failed to end this bad run on Sunday May 15. The reigning world champion finished fourth behind Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia), while Johann Zarco took fifth. It was the Italian, Enea Bastianini (Ducati) who took victory for the third time this season.
Last year, the two Frenchmen both finished on the podium but were overtaken by Jack Miller.
Thanks to this victory, the Italian, third in the general classification, made a superb comeback (94 points). He is only 4 lengths behind the Spaniard Aleix Espargaro (98 points). Leader, Fabio Quartararo and his 102 points maintain a short lead. Fourth, Alex Rins stagnated at 69 points.
