The French motorcycle has a smile. Johann Zarco (Ducati Pramac), third in the MotoGP world championship, will start the British Grand Prix on Sunday. He took pole position on Saturday August 6.

He will be accompanied, on Sunday, on the front line by the Spaniard Maverick Vinales (Aprilia) and by the Australian Jack Miller (Ducati). The other Frenchman, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), leader of the championship, will start fourth.

This is the second time this season that Zarco has set the fastest qualifying time. This is the 8th pole position in the premier category for the 32-year-old from Cannes. A performance achieved with style: in 1’57”767, he smashed the old circuit record held by Marc Marquez (1’58″168).

In the second row with Quartararo, we find the Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), fourth in the world championship, and the Spaniard Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia), second in the standings 21 points behind the Frenchman.
