According to the Green Party, the electric car zone will both reduce emissions and increase the accessibility of public transport, among other things.
– Today, the quality of public transport is reduced by all car traffic. With an electric car zone, we will increase the accessibility for buses, for example, and can then also have more trips, which increases the quality of public transport, says Lars Stromgren, who is one of the Green Party’s two top names ahead of this autumn’s election in Stockholm.
SD: Build Eastern connection
The Sweden Democrats would rather see other solutions than a ban on petrol and diesel cars.
– We want to reduce emissions in other ways, for example by shortening traffic jams. That is why we have fought hard for an Eastern connection that would provide a complete ring road around Stockholm, says Gabriel Kroon, SD’s top name in the city of Stockholm before the election.

Östen Åsberg • That’s enough! WE NEED THE CAR! Stop fussing over grains of sand. Sweden / the world must start rolling! The war, the virus, environmental activists have made the world stop. Environmental activists do not belong in the Riksdag. In fact, it is human greatness madness, ie. we believe we are bigger than we are with all that entails. Stop! We are just a small drop in the ocean, as there are other living species that are much larger than us…. …
So some zones where only electric vehicles are allowed to drive are not something you think is needed?
Martin W • Emissions are of course extra serious when they occur in the middle of people. Many more children in the inner city get asthma. More elderly people get cardiovascular disease, dementia, etc. Studies show that it is precisely due to exhaust fumes. That is, it is obvious that cars that emit exhaust fumes must be banned ASAP.
The Green Party goes to the polls to introduce an electric car zone in central Stockholm where only clean electric cars will be allowed to drive. What do you think about it? Share in the chat!
