Within the framework of activities for the Day of the Musician, the Sonora collective, made up of women who seek to reduce the gender gap, joins the Municipality of Lima to offer different talks and practical workshops.
These activities are intended to be a space for discussion, sharing and tangible practice of the experience behind the development of a concert, hand in hand with specialists with more than 10 years of experience in their different specialties, such as live sound, management of massive events and self-management of shows.
Sonora was born at the end of 2021 in response to the notorious rate of gender inequality for behind-the-scenes workers in the music industry, and seeking that the few that exist today can be an inspiration for the next generation, and that they feel each time most identified in different technical and production jobs within the industry.
Although in recent years the problem regarding gender inequality in different works in the artistic field has been put on the table, the next step is to open the conversation to find possible solutions.
That is why, hand in hand with the Municipality of LimaVarious activities will be carried out in the Square of the Arts of the Municipal Theater of Limawhere you can enjoy:
- Shows of three female musical projects: sakia Y sumerian representing the FMS, Afro-Peruvian AssociationY Lorraine Blume.
- school band contest
Access to the different activities will be free, and registration is only necessary through a form available on the Sonora networks for workshops and conversations, and on the Joinnus ticket office for concerts in La Plazuela. Activities start from 2 pm to 8 pm on November 25.
