FC Bayern still have one last competitive game to play on Saturday, before the summer break for the old and new champions. The squad planning for the next season is already in full swing, including improvements in central midfield.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann expressed this wish after yesterday’s 2-2 draw against VfB Stuttgart. “I don’t mind if we buy one or two pressing machines”, according to Nagelsmann. Although he is not dissatisfied with the current squad, “To have pressing players” be however “never bad”.
Two offers, two rejections
Specifically, Munich’s efforts are mainly about two players: Ryan Gravenberch (19, Ajax Amsterdam) and Konrad Laimer (24, RB Leipzig). Both of them are still hooked on the different transfer ideas of the clubs.
For Gravenberch, Ajax is undeterred, including bonuses, 30 million euros, FC Bayern is sticking to its offer of 17 plus six million. A first offer of 18 to 20 million has been received for Laimer. According to ‘Bild’, Leipzig would only be willing to talk at over 20 million – the record champions don’t want to pay that at the moment. Neither Gravenberch nor Laimer should have had the very last word.
