The city of Naples will discover this Thursday a statue of Diego Armando Maradona at the door of the club’s stadium that was renamed after his death a year ago.
With the presence of Diego Maradona Junior and former teammates of 10 during their time in Napoli, the authorities of the southern Italian city will discover tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. (local time) a bronze statue created by the artist Domenico Sepe.
The work will be at the door of the “Distinti” sector of the Diego Armando Maradona stadium until evening and then it will be removed until its final location is defined, according to local media reported today.
This tribute will be led by the sports manager of the Municipality of Naples, Emanuela Ferrante.
The club, meanwhile, has organized another event for Sunday, when the team, current leaders of Serie A, host Lazio.
In the run-up to the match, another bronze statue will be inaugurated in the changing room area of the stadium that was commissioned by Stefano Ceci, a friend of Maradona, who is in conflict with the heirs over image rights.
