National team: Belmadi begins the revolution of its workforce

National coach Djamel Belmadi will inject new blood into the national team in anticipation of the next deadlines, from the qualifiers for the next Can 2023 scheduled in no less than a month. Several young players who play in different championships d’Europe are expected to strengthen the national team from next June and possibly replace those who should announce their international retirement given their advanced age.

Now that the national team has been eliminated from the next World Cup in Qatar, a reshuffle is needed within the band of Djamel Belmadi. The latter will have to inject new blood into it and already begin to prepare the next generation, where certain elements, among others Raïs Ouahab M’bolhi, Djamel Benlamri or Adlène Guedioura, to name but a few, should soon announce their international retirement.

Admittedly, the national team already has a nucleus with young players who can predict a promising future for them, such as Ahmed Touba, Ismail Bennacer and others Adam Ounas and Ramiz Zerrouki, but the fact remains that a reinforcement are needed. Young players who play in different European championships like Akim Zedadka, Billal Brahim, Anthony Mandréa or Billel Massaoudi and Abdelkahar Kadri are expected to join the Greens soon.

Succession of M’bolhi, Belmadi has “the king’s choice”

By establishing himself as the number 1 goalkeeper of the national team for 12 years, the end clap is looming on the horizon for Raïs Ouahab M’bolhi. At 36, he should soon announce his international retirement. Including Alexandre Okidja who will complete his 34th birthday in a few weeks.

Djamel Belmadi is already preparing the succession of M’bolhi. The least we can say is that he has the choice of king. There Anthony Mandéra (25 years old) who has a string of good performances with SCO Angers, Teddy Boulhendi (21 years old) who figures more and more in the OGC Nice group or Gaya Merbah (28 years old) resident of Raja Casablanca.

The one who is expected to be summoned from the next stage of the national selection, Mandréa. He could celebrate his first summons during the next match against Uganda according to information relayed by several Algerian media.

Tougaï, Zedadka, Brahimi, Abdelli and the others

Without a club, Djamel Benlamri should not be called up for the next internship. At 32, he is on the decline. Mohamed-Amine Tougaï seems to be his worthy successor from the next stage of the Greens. Young (22 years old), with a large frame and having acquired a rich African experience with ES Tunis, the defender trained at NAHD is considered a player of the future.

There is also Akim Zedadka who should strengthen the rear guard of the national team from the next stage. The right side of Clermont (26 years old) has a string of good performances with his team, being the most regular player. He could be summoned to compensate for the absence of Youcef Atal, injured.

While Belmadi has a well-rounded midfield, the attacking compartment will need the reinforcement. To this end, there are attackers who are making a remarkable run in Europe. We can mention the two wingers from OGC Nice and Le Havre AC Billal Brahim (22 years old and French international U19) and Himad Abdelli (22 years old) (he would have joined SCO Angers). Two players who have already shown their desire to represent Algeria at the international level.

We can also mention Billel Massaoudi (24) and Abdelkahar Kadri (21), two strikers who are making a remarkable career in Belgium with KV Kortrijk.

We are still waiting for Larouci, Adli, Gouiri, Ait-Nouri and Cherki

There are also other binational players who have not yet decided on the selection they will represent on the international level. We cite in particular Yasser Larouci (21 years old, Liverpool), Yacine Adli (21 years old, signatory at AC Milan), Amine Gouiri (22 years old, OGC Nice), Rayane Ait-Nouri (21 years old, Wolverhampton) or even Rayane Cherki (18 years, Olympique Lyonnais).

Players who still hover in suspense as to the sporting nationality for which they will opt. But one thing is certain, the leaders of the FAF will have to take action to convince them to join the Verts and steal them from France. Young players capable of bringing a lot to the national team given the enormous potential they enjoy and that all observers predict a bright future for them.
